Negative Calories: Vegetarian & Vegan Friendly

Negative Calories Vegetarian Friendly

One of the reasons that negative calorie foods work so well in a diet plan is that they are all foods that could be eaten by both vegetarians or vegans. Because of this, you could accurately refer to the negative calorie diet as a vegetarian diet or even as a vegan diet. This can help explain why the negative caloric effect works: these are all going to be healthy foods that are high in water, high in fiber, low in calories, and almost none of them have any fat. Having a diet filled with these types of foods is a slam dunk way to drop extra weight. Have you ever seen someone get 100 lbs overweight by eating carrots, celery, apples, or other fruits and veggies? Me neither.

The negative calorie food diet is often called a fad diet, and in some ways that might be true, but if a diet is designed to lose weight and it works, wasn't that the point? Negative calorie foods diets were not meant to be a full time weight loss eating plan, but as a crash diet. Negative calorie crash diets are short, usually 10 day, diet plans where all the food you can eat (and it's usually in large or virtually unlimited amounts) is from the list of negative calorie foods, but then after ten days you take at least a week off, eating reasonably to help keep the weight off.

There are many people who slam negative calorie foods, but a lot of this is because of common mis-perceptions, or because of technical arguments over what "negative calorie" actually means and how the negative caloric effect works as opposed to whether or not this diet actually works or not, which should be the only thing that is really heavily important when discussing weight loss plans. And for all the arguments back and forth, there's no argument that if you want to lose weight, that negative calorie diets work. One way to even prove this is that there are tons of knock off diets that are in some way based off the idea of negative calorie foods, or are based around a certain negative calorie fruit or negative calorie vegetable. The pineapple diet and cabbage soup diet are both great examples of this.

Negative calorie foods help dieters lose weight, so if you're looking to drop some weight, then this is the way to go. Besides, just think of all that tasty negative calorie fruit available!

Negative Calorie Food: The Key to the Diet is the Negative Calorie Foods List

Negative Calorie Foods Calories Negative Negative Calorie Foods List Negative Calorie

Well if you're looking for the truth about negative calorie foods then searching for negative calorie foods and zero calorie diet information online can be really overwhelming. There is so much information online about negative calorie diets, but it can be hard to tell if the negative calorie is a myth, fact, or somewhere in the gray area in between. I'm not a doctor or personal trainer or weight loss expert or anything like that, but I have studied negative calories, and even if I can't give you a full negative calorie foods list I can still probably offer some new information about fiber in negative calories, and about some of the more common questions that many web surfers have about this controversial diet.

Many people want to know about individual vegetables and fruits. I'm not completely sure why someone would want to know about negative calorie celery, since I just can't see how someone could eat lots and lots of negative calorie celery, because there's just not a lot of taste there. Apples with negative calories makes more sense, since at least apples taste good and give you some filling for the stomach. All foods that you're going to find on a negative calorie foods list are going to be either fruits are vegetables. These great diet foods all have high water content, high fiber content, and belong to the fruit/veggie part of the food pyramid. Many of these veggies are loaded up in a vegetable broth for any negative calorie diet soup. This soup is most often found in the cabbage soup diet, or can also be used in a person's independent eating plan based on the negative calorie foods concept.

Finding a full negative calorie foods list isn't easy, often because there are many variations over the list and there are arguments over some of the fruits and vegetables and whether they belong or not. Kiwi and pineapple are examples of fruit found on a negative calorie list, but other sites might choose to leave them off because somehow they just "seem" like they should have actual calories, especially compared to cucumbers, carrots, and celery...all foods that are commonly found on a negative calorie list. Yet if you look at the original lists that come from the original negative calorie diet theory, pineapple and kiwi will be on virtually all of them. That's why I'm not going to have a definitive negative calorie foods list here because it's hard if not impossible to get a complete definitive list.

This diet has taken on an online life of its own, and there are many different points of view on it, but the cabbage soup diet is a version of the negative calorie diet, as are many other types of popular trendy diets. Is there a such thing as a "negative calorie?" Well that's hard to figure out, but there are plenty of people who believe this diet works, and it's hard to argue with that many people swearing by it.

Still, it can be hard outside of this blog to find a good review on the negative calorie foods diet, and any time you hear something like top secret fat loss secret diet review, make sure you can find a review to really tell you a non-marketing opinion on that diet plan. When you can find a review (like the one highlighted two lines up) then you're probably in good shape, but always do your homework with any diet, whether it's that one or negative calorie foods, or any other type.

Apples: Negative Calories at Their Best

Do apples have negative calories? Apples are one of the most popular negative calorie foods out there. They are great fruit that are both cheap and delicious. Who hasn't grown up remembering snacking on apples as a kid (and sorry - apple pie doesn't count)?

To answer the question about whether or not apples are negative calorie food, you have to look at the official list of foods for this diet. That list says that, indeed, apples count as part of the negative calorie diet.

This might seem surprising, since when many people think about a fruit or vegetable that might be "negative calorie," they assume that it has to be tasteless, or exotic. Neither is the case, as there are few fruits that are as tasty as the apple.

Negative Calories, however, do not refer to a type of calorie, but to foods on the negative calorie diet list which, in theory, can create a caloric deficit.

So what does all that fancy language mean? Apples are one of many fruits in a diet that has been referred to as the negative calorie diet, or zero calorie diet, or any similar derivative of those two names.

The theory is that if an apple you eat has 100 calories in it, but it takes your body 120 calories to digest it, then that apple has a total calorie effect of -20, because you took more to burn it off than it gave you.

While some of the expected foods, like celery and carrots, appear on the list, many people are surprised by the numbers and variety of fruit that are acceptable for this eating plan, including apples.

Negative calorie foods are only fruits and vegetables, and while not everything makes the list (you'll never find potatoes or coconut, for example), a lot of even common foods from these two major food groups are an accepted part of a zero calorie diet.

Knowing this information is helpful for many people who are trying to make this unique eating plan work for them. It's one thing to look at celery, bell peppers, and onions and try to figure out how to make these a major part of the diet, but it's much easier to do this with an apple.

Negative calorie foods are somewhat controversial, in that people argue if a caloric deficit actually ever takes place, but the good news if you're looking at this diet is that every food on here is healthy.

So go ahead and grab another apple! That's one food that won't be adding to your waistline!

If you want a negative calorie foods cookbook, just look around online and you'll be sure to run into the sales page for it somewhere.
