Negative Calorie Fruits: More on Negative Calorie Fruit

Fruits with Negative Calories

While there might be more vegetables than fruits listed among the long lists of negative calorie foods, the majority of people I know will definitely prefer to eat a lot of fruit as opposed to a lot of veggies. Fruits tend to be sweeter, taste better, and are more filling than many of their equally healthy but less tasty counterparts. Negative calorie fruit is a huge part of changing your diet to be far healthier, which for many overweight people is enough alone to start really ramping up the weight loss.

While this blog has already made one (well more than one) very specific post on negative calorie fruit, this is a subject that can definitely be hit in more detail. What might surprise you as you read this list is that many of these fruits are also staples of other weight loss plans that tend to be more respected, or at the very least, less controversial, than negative calorie food. This shouldn't be surprising since everyone should know that fruits and vegetables are often the most healthy food you can eat.

Without any further wait, here is a list of negative calorie fruits:

  • Apples
  • Pineapple
  • Cranberries
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Papayas
  • Grapefruit
  • Mango
  • Oranges
  • Tangerines
  • Blackberries
  • Blueberries
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Watermelon
  • Kiwi
  • Prunes
  • Cantaloupe
You mean apples have negative calories? And pineapple (good time to mention that this blog also has a post on the popular pineapple diet), too? Yes, and yes. At the very least, both of these fruit are on the negative calorie diet list. While I don't know too many people who would eat lemons and limes just because of the negative calories, it's probably very safe to say that there are plenty who would love to eat more strawberries, kiwi, and cantaloupe!

This is a fairly complete list of every single fruit I've seen that is mentioned as negative calorie fruit. Even if you decide not to go on a negative calorie diet, use this list as a great way to simply improve your overall health and your over all diet. From grapefruit to apples to oranges and pineapple, adding these zero calorie fruit to your diet will only help you prosper!

Negative Calorie | Negative Calorie Foods | Negative Calorie List | Negative Calories

There are many questions, facts, myths, and arguments revolving around the concept of a negative calorie and what exactly the negative calorie foods diet entails. The negative calorie diet, also often referred to as the zero calorie diet (not to be mixed up with the cabbage soup diet, raw foods diet, or grapefruit diet, all of which are variations of the negative calorie foods diet), is as popular as it is controversial. It is popular because many dieters have had great success with this eating plan, and it's controversial mostly because of the concept of "negative calories" as well as many people's misinterpretations of what this phrase actually means.

The concept of a "negative calorie" isn't that a food has an inherent caloric deficit. That would be impossible. The idea behind the negative calorie diet is that there are certain foods (all of which are fruits or vegetables) that provide less calories to the body than the body uses to actually digest them. This is what the concept of negative calorie foods and caloric deficits are all about. The idea is that you can eat a lot of certain types of food and still lose weight because your body will spend more calories burning negative calorie fruits and negative calorie vegetables than they will receive from the food itself.

Is this information about the negative calorie diet correct? Are the lists of negative calorie foods really helpful, or is this all a scam? Well the answer is a little more complicated than that. As for the exact question of do foods have actual negative caloric values, the answer is no, they don't. This is most likely the result of a misinterpretation between "calorie" with a small c, and "Calorie," which is actually a kilocalorie. So while digesting an apple might take 200 calories (small c), that doesn't come close to the 100 Calories (kilocalories) that an apple provides. This is the difference educated people refer to when they say the concept of negative calories are a scam.

That being said, the negative calorie foods diet works! It doesn't work because there are actual foods with negative calories, but the diet has helped tens of thousands of people lose weight because these foods don't have fat, don't have cholesterol, and are loaded with fiber and digestive enzymes that help process the food through your system, and tend to be lower in calories. The foods that are labeled negative calorie foods are a who's who of the best fruits and vegetables that you can have in any fat busting diet.

So negative calorie fruits and negative calorie vegetables might not literally burn more calories than they give, but eating a diet full of these fruits and vegetables will make it virtually impossible for anyone to eat enough calories to actually gain weight, and eating a lot of raw fruits and vegetables makes sure that not only are you getting the vitamins you need for your body to work at maximum efficiency, but these raw foods also do a great job of teaching your body to liquefy and flush fat whenever your body has a caloric deficit during your diet.

In this way the negative caloric foods still will help any person lose weight. You don't gain love handles by eating apples, pineapple, oranges, carrots, cucumbers, blueberries, cabbage, lettuce, or other similar foods. The fiber in these foods, as well as the digestive enzymes, make them perfect diet foods. So even if technically there is no food with negative calories, "negative calorie fruits" and "negative calorie vegetables" as they are described, are the best foods you can possibly put into a diet to help you lose weight and flush fat out of your body.

So the truth about negative calorie foods is that actual negative calories don't exist, but this diet very much will be successful in helping people to lose weight. If you have any doubt about this fact, look at the food list. The most calorie rich food on the list is pineapple, which is hardly the type of food that makes people obese. If you want more evidence to prove that the negative calorie food diet is not a scam, look at all the imitators that use this basic diet plan, or parts of it, in order to help dieters lose weight.

The cabbage soup diet, raw foods diet, and grapefruit diet are all based on, or borrow heavily from, the negative calorie foods diet. The cabbage soup diet is a particularly popular version since it not only has the same benefits of its parent diet, but instead of not giving any help as to how to effectively implement this supplemental fat burning diet, the cabbage soup diet gives an effective one week meal plan that focuses on cycling calories, types of calories, and eating as much negative calorie soup as you want to stave off hunger.

When you hear about negative calorie soup or negative calorie diet soup, most likely these are both references to the soup recipe that is used in the cabbage soup diet. The idea here is that with an unlimited amount of tasty soup, there is no reason to cheat because you don't need to starve yourself. If you're hungry, go ahead and have another bowl! That's a great bonus that this type of diet provides over its competitors.

So even if this diet doesn't work exactly the way it purports to, isn't the main point whether or not you actually lose weight? That's the main point when looking at negative calorie diet foods. These are healthy foods that will help you to lose weight. So don't get duped into arguing about the specifics over whether or not the idea of a negative calorie is stupid or not. Just use the diet plan that works, and you'll be glad you did!

Negative Calorie Foods | Food 0 Calories | Foods No Calories

Zero Calorie Diet: Another Name for the Negative Calorie Foods Diet

It's funny to me how there is still a giant controversy over negative calorie foods. The negative calorie foods diet does not make the claim that a food has "negative calories." There's no physical way that a food could contain less than zero since the number definition of nothing is zero. The idea behind the zero calorie diet, a name that is gaining popularity just to ignore the stupid fights that keep coming up from people who take the term "negative calorie foods" literally instead of studying the diet more to see what it actually says, is that you eat low calorie foods that because of their high fiber, digestive enzymes, and low calories result in a deficit.

This deficit is what makes negative calorie foods work. The idea in producing a caloric deficit is that say a piece of celery only has 5 calories, but your body has to burn 25 calories worth of energy to digest it. That results in a loss of -20 calories. That caloric deficit is what makes the zero calorie diet work. This diet isn't based on a large list of food with 0 calories, but on foods that created this deficit to help you lose total calories even as you continue to eat.

All the foods in this diet are either fruits or vegetables, as these are only types of foods that can create a negative caloric effect. Rabbit is close to having this type of an effect if that's all you eat, but it isn't actual starvation that takes back, but a protein imbalance that is unhealthy (but only if rabbit is ALL you eat day after day after day).

There are a lot of searches for recipes for negative calorie foods, and while partial lists of negative calorie foods are pretty easy to search for and find online, figuring out how to work them into a diet with recipes and meals as opposed to just an occasional snack is much more difficult, and that's where the e-book comes in. Not only does the negative calorie foods e-book have recipes for negative calorie foods, but it also explains the negative calorie foods diet, how it works, and how to properly implement it. There are free negative calorie food e-books out there, but the free ones are mostly fluff and teaser.

If you're serious about losing weight with the negative foods diet, then you'll want the e-book that has it all. Negative calorie foods can be easy to add to a regular diet when you know how to actually apply it. Negative calorie foods are meant as a supplemental diet, not a end all be all description of how to eat.

The zero calorie diet uses negative calorie foods to their maximum potential to help you hit your dream weight loss goals.

Negative Calorie Food | Negative Calorie Foods Diet | Success with Negative Calorie Foods

When looking at the negative calorie foods diet, it's important to note the individual negative calorie food on there, and the effects that will have in your diet. Many people have had success with negative calorie foods, but they also understood the right way to add these nearly perfect diet foods to their normal eating habits. This diet is a supplemental diet, meaning that it shouldn't be done on its own, but should be added to normal eating habits. Negative calorie foods can jump start a diet, but if you ate nothing but foods off of the negative calorie foods list, you would eventually starve to death, so this must be supplemental.

There's only one major negative calorie foods ebook out there, but it provides a ton of information, including how to implement a negative calorie foods diet, a complete list of negative calories foods, and many recipes using negative calorie foods. This is very helpful, because negative calorie foods like pineapple, kiwi, green bell peppers, strawberries, cabbage, lettuce, blueberries, and the such may sound like good snacks, but making entire negative calorie food entrees can be much more difficult.

When you're looking for foods with no calories or 0 calorie foods, this is the list that can help out the most. Having a diet that is heavy in negative calorie food will help anyone to lose weight. The negative calorie diet is not a completely new idea, in fact it has been around in many other forms before, and there are diets that are even more extreme than this one - and far less healthy. Take a look at the cabbage soup diet or grapefruit diet as two examples of this.

Foods that cause you to lose weight the negative calorie such as green bell pepper negative calorie food or pineapple negative calorie are excellent adds to any diet, and absolutely essential for a negative calorie foods diet. This specific route to weight loss is becoming more popular, and while there are a lot of misconceptions about the negative calorie effect, and the metabolic negative caloric effect from the negative calorie foods diet, but in the end the question around a diet of zero calorie foods is whether or not it works, and the negative calorie foods diet does.

Negative Calorie Foods Diet

There has been a lot of back and forth on whether negative calorie foods exist, or whether it's all snake oil and wives' tales. One thing I've noticed while doing extensive research is that often times the people who are most adamant that "negative calorie foods" is a stupid concept seem to miss what the actual negative foods concept is about.

Negative calories foods are not foods that don't have calorie. All food has calories of some kind unless it's water. Negative calorie foods are foods belonging to a diet that empahsizes foods that are low in calories, but which the body takes more energy to burn than it receives. The theory is that the normal calorie burn from digesting the food and living a normal life will wipe out the calories eaten from these foods.

For example, if a slice of carrot had 10 calories, but took 12 to burn, that food would have -2 calorie effect on your body. That doesn't mean the carrots are -2 calories, but that the end result of this process is to lose weight. The idea with negative calorie foods, which are always certain types of fruits and veggies and are usually very high in fiber, and have a low number of calories to begin with.

These foods are excellent choices for a diet, since they keep you full, but don't add any calories whatsoever.

I repeat this because it's important: no foods have negative calories. The lowest you can possibly get is zero, which is water. But ice water requires the body to work to warm it up for use, meaning that although the calorie amounts burned are paltry (an estimated 50 calories for the recommended 8 glasses of ice water a day), that still creates a negative calorie effect since your body burned 50 calories to process ice water, which gave back 0 calories.

This is what is meant by "negative calorie foods." A more accurate description might be "Foods low in calories that produce a negative calorie effect because of how much energy it takes to burn them," but that doesn't sound very catchy. Meanwhile the term "negative calorie foods" gets the same idea across.

So as for the argument over whether these technically exist or not, negative calorie foods do what they are supposed to for a negative calorie foods diet: they make you lose weight. That's the entire point, isn't it?

The idea of negative calorie foods works for several reasons, and most of these foods have a few things in common that make this possible:

1) All of these foods are extremely high in fiber. This makes it much easier for your body to digest quickly, and use every nutrient while passing the rest straight on through quickly enough that it can't stick around to become fat.

2) All of these foods are either fruits or veggies. There is no other type of food on this list that falls into another food group. These food groups are commonly the healthiest types of food for you anyway, and almost never have any fat, though there are exceptions (like coconuts, which definitely do NOT make the negative foods list).

3) Most all of these foods will have a high water content. This makes sense since no matter how strong a metabolic effect a food has, the higher in calories it is the harder it will be to burn all of them off. Water has no calories, so fruits and veggies that are particularly high in water will have less calories and thus there is less to burn off while digesting.

This is just the beginning of many posts giving more details on the negative calorie foods diet, so keep tuned in for more updates.
